Meet Archer
Founder of Clipper Virtual Management
I've been in the floral world nearly half my life.
I started at 18 in the floral department of a popular grocery store chain in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Where I learned the chaos, the early morning rituals of the trade. Buckets to wash, stems to trim, clippers to sharpen, and bouquets to wrap.
Sometimes, all before sunrise.
It wasn't glamorous but it was meaningful.
And somewhere between the 5AM shipments and the scent of crushed stems on the floor I realized that this wasn't just a job.

I was hooked.

From there, I earned a place at one of Halifax's most prestigious and respected floral studios. The kind of shop known for it's design and artistry long before you ever stepped through the door.
I worked my way into the role of Manager and Head Designer, standing beside a master florist who didn't just teach contemporary design, they influenced it.
They travelled the world demonstrating the art of flowers, and I had the privilege of being the one they trusted at their side, often accompanying them on stage to assist or to manage the shop while they were away.
Under their mentorship, I learned precision, composition, restraint, and the kind of craftsmanship that demands your full presence. Our studio became known for it. We won awards for our contemporary work, were invited to exclusive events, built large-scale installations, and created work that made people stop mid-step.
During those years, I had the honour of designing for members of the Royal Family, for famous actors and singers, the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia and members of parliament and even NHL teams and players. We handled private estates, universities, and grand events, and during the holidays we worked sometimes seventeen-hour days without hesitation. Not out of obligation, but out of devotion to the craft.

Sometimes those moments certainly felt glamorous but they also felt intentional. They taught me how to work under pressure, how to maintain confidentiality in high-stakes environments, and how to uphold standards that don't bend just because things get hectic.

That chapter didn't just build my skill. It built my standard.

When I first moved out west, I was already burnt out.
Years of long stretches behind the design bench, holiday seasons that blurred into sleepless nights, drinking caffeine instead of water, forgetting to nourish my body because I was always working, carrying the weight of responsibility of staff and management;
It almost broke my body and my spirit.
I wasn't sure if I had lost the love, or the pace had simply stripped the joy from it.

After the exhaustion and focusing on my health for a while, I knew one thing for certain:
The floral industry was still home.

So I eased back in, not by diving into the chaos again, but by reconnecting with the part of the job I loved the most: Supporting people.
Helping owners. Supporting staff. Creating structure. Building systems from the ground up.

It wasn’t just florists either, small businesses everywhere were stretched thin, carrying too much on their own with little support or structure.
I’ve always loved working with local shops and creative entrepreneurs. The ones who pour their whole heart into their work.

Then life shifted again.
I became a mother.
Suddenly the pace I lived by no longer fit the life I was building.

I wanted to stay connected to the industry I loved, but I wasn't willing to sacrifice the precious moments with my daughter that I would never get back.
At the same time, my family and I were beginning to travel internationally, and I realized I needed a business that could move with us and not tie me down to one shop or city.

So in late 2023, I founded the beginnings of Clipper Virtual Management, as a bridge for florists and small business owners to get the support I always wished I had.
-
Someone who understands the 'floral' rush, the wedding chaos, the orders stacking up
-
Someone who can create systems that protect time, energy, and sanity
-
Someone who has been on the inside of the chaos and knows what it takes

Clipper exists so neither of us has to choose between business and life.
We handle the back-end, so your creativity, your team, and your joy can breathe again.

And this is just the beginning. My ultimate dream? To grow Clipper into a thriving remote business that empowers creative entrepreneurs and eventually open my own flower shop once we plant roots.
If you're ready to reclaim your time like I did, let's take action together.
